    1) You need check your server permissions (rewrite mode). The default file permission is 0644. You need 755 or 777 to save your changes.
2)Go to Edit Menu=>Your blog menu=>Menu item and edit Level access.
    3) Dunno about IDoBlog, but you can use Joomla subscriber extensions.

Hi David, thanks for your help.

1.) Can you tell me WHICH files I have to set on 755? I set most of them, but unfortunately it's still the same thing- nothing has changed

      2.) Works now, thanks.

3.) I checked this out, but I can't find a component which would allow something like that.... can you give me a hint?

    1) administrator>component>com_idoblog>config.php (look that is 644, chnge to 755 or 777. You will need change permission each time you fix something).
    2)Nice.
    3) Try one of those: http://extensions.joomla.org/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=1792&Itemid=35.
Each new post is a new page in your website, so it will tell to your subscribers that you have a new text/pic/something there.
